Congratulations are in order for Jacob Backon, science teacher and assistant soccer coach. Jacob plays soccer for the International Lads, an open age team in the Greater Pittsburgh Soccer League. The International Lads had a great season winning its first division championship beating North Hills in the semifinals, 5-1 and clinching the title by defeating FTM United 4-0. Spectators say that Jacob is an outstanding player and the games were really exciting to watch.
Patrick Link, math teacher and assistant golf coach is starring in The Star-Spangled Girl, a play by Neil Simon. The play is a fast moving, hilarious comedy. It opens August 1 and runs through August 16, at the Apple Hill Playhouse in Delmont, PA. More details are available on the Apple Hill Playhouse web site.

John Martinelli captured first place nationally for the catagory of Cyber Security in the Future Business Leaders of America Competition (FBLA) at the National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. At the National Leadership Conference, John was able to showcase his entrepreneurial leadership skills and win the Cyber Security event.
The four-day conference is considered the pinnacle FBLA expereince. The FBLA has forged partnerships with industry leaders to underwrite competitive events and scholarships for students achieving national ranking. DeVry University sponsored the Cyper Security competition and John was awarded $750.
John is entering his senior year at Kiski and he has already developed and launched his own consulting business in web security. He recently created a corporate entity and has several clients.
